1. Another new girlfriend:
This is a live post-divorce mediation with parents regarding
the best interests of their son. However, there has
always been a problem with the father’s constant
new girl friends. The mother has breached a court order
on visitation. These parents mediate values about how
they should parent.
2. The family real estate business:
Father and daughter; parent and business role difficulties.
The father is the founder of the company and wants his
daughter to take over when he retires. He still likes
control of the firm and has difficulty in letting go.
However she wants to manage the firm in her way, and
he finds ways to control his daughter in her personal
life and in the business.
3. Doing business between friends:
The business deal gone wrong. This mediation demonstrates
Dr. Larry Fong, live in session, mediating a business
dispute where two old friends were engaged in a business
deal that went badly. In a classic example of mixing
friendship and business, the two friend/business relationships
are intertwined making the mediation even more difficult.
4. Medical business partnership:
A partner disputing over reducing the amount of patient
hours compared to the others. One doctor has to reduce
his surgery capacity, but doesn’t want to lower
his income in the firm. His colleagues do not agree
and there is a danger of losing a friend and colleague.
